I can’t remember the exact date that I drove my bus last, but my best guess is that it was about 3 or 4 years ago. I rear end collision tore the exhaust up pretty good on it and it stayed in a garage from there on. A couple weeks before Christmas though, we managed to find a reputable VW mechanic in our area that we trusted with the task of rebuild the engine completley and repairing any other items that needed tending. Needless to say, she runs like a champ. We have about 300 miles on the engine and its running very strong. The brakes are now 100% functional and safe (first time ever since owning the bus.) Put a set of Koni’s and Nokian snow/ice tires on it and it’s getting around great. More updates to come.
