Parking in the Pines is an annual VW bus camp out held in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado.

2009 Details

• DATE – May 29-30 2009. Some will also be arriving on Thursday (May 28th.)
• LOCATION – Golden Gate Canyon State Park in Golden, CO.  Click the green tent on the map below for directions, or visit the state parks website.

• FEES / RESERVATIONS – We have already reserved the entire Loop D of Reverends Ridge, but there may be spots open in the adjacent loops, so be sure to check those out.  Go here to RSVP on of those spots.

• MISC INFO
  • Only one vehicle, or 6 people total,  are permitted per camp site.  However, we have typically been allowed two buses per camp site in the past.  Is is our impression though, that the rangers will not budge on the 6 person limit.
  • While there are no events planned for the camp out, there are usually plenty of things brought to entertain the kids.  The driving circle around the loop is paved, and scooters are one of the favorites to be used.  Bocce balls and horse shoes will also be present.
  • There will be a pot luck dinner on Saturday night.  If you want, send me what you’ll be bringing and I’ll add it here.
    • Troy & Leah: Teriyaki Beef with broccoli and rice.
    • Jason & Steph: Coca-Cola chicken over noodles, and a Chocolate Lovers Cake for dessert.
    • Dan: Couple side dishes
